Frances Applebaum's Obituary
Frances Irene Applebaum, 98, passed peacefully on March 8, 2020.
Predeceased by parents Pauline Goodman and Maurice J. Rosnick, sister Blanche Applebaum and brother Manning J. Rosnick, M.D., and husband Bennett R. Applebaum. Survived by daughters Sandra L. Frankel (Neil), Judith Allison, Phyllis Ciment, and Nancy Gabor (Ron). Also survived by grandchildren Janice Block, M.D. (David), Thomas Frankel (Carolynn), Eric Frankel (Ashley), Leslie Allison, Destiny Allison (Steve), Clay Allison (Kay), Justine Ciment, Hilary Sheftel-Gomes (Aumijo), Ashley Ciment, Robert Gabor (Nancy), and Michael Gabor (Diana). She was also blessed with 19 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Frankie was born in Worcester, MA in 1921, moved to York, PA with her family in 1929, attended Penn State University, moved to Miami Beach, Florida in 1940, and later graduated from Barry University. She and Bennett Applebaum married in 1940 and raised their family on Miami Beach. They had a special loving relationship during their 63 years of marriage. They traveled extensively around the world and had many wonderful adventures. Frankie worked at the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind for 30 years and served as coordinator for social group activity and for rehabilitation units. She also created her own business making and selling artificial pussy willows, flowers and plants to Interior Decorators throughout the USA. Most important to Frankie were her husband, her daughters, and her special sons-in-law Neil and Ron. We appreciated the wonderful professionalism and caring friendship of Luisa Robinson, Lois Wolff, Dr. Lawrence Ciment, and Dr. Michael Whittles. Thank you.
