Francine Honey Havelin's Obituary
Francine Honey Havelin passed away August 10, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Fran was born in Brooklyn, NY to Belle and Irving Memberg on September 10, 1943. After graduating Thomas Jefferson High School, she married the love of her life, Seymour. Together they raised three children in Rosedale, NY. They just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Prior to moving to Florida to be a full time Grandma, she spent her life working in customer service and logistics. The high point of her career was handling the shipping of gear all around the country for the umpires in the entire MLB. She became known as “Franny Baseball”.
Fran hardly missed an appointment at the beauty parlor. She loved having her hair and nails done. She never left the house without makeup. She loved slot machines, horse racing, cruises, and she really loved to shop. She loved to cook and entertain, and her home was always full of family on the holidays. Her baked ziti and meatballs were just as good as her matzoh ball soup and latkes. She also loved to talk. Fran would talk to anyone, anywhere, family, friends, and strangers.
But her biggest joy in life was her grandchildren, Kaila and Jacob Deckelbaum, and Michael Havelin.
Aside from her grandchildren, Fran is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Seymour, her children Jeffrey (Kristine) Havelin, and Melissa (Marc) Deckelbaum, brothers Donald Memberg and Harvey (Andrea) Memberg, her father Irving Memberg, and daughter in law Carmela Havelin, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her son Allen Havelin.
