Francine Boxer PELTZ(May 21, 1935 - October 11, 2014)
PELTZ, Francine Boxer, 79, passed away October 11, 2014. She was born May 21, 1935 to Harvey and Sallie Boxer in New York. Her family, including baby brother Jay, moved to Miami Beach in 1945 where Francine attended North Beach Elementary, Feinberg Jr. and Ida Fischer Sr. High School. She loved sports and excelled at handball and softball After graduation she attended the University of Florida. She later earned a degree as a medical technician from Davis Institute of Technology and worked in the Fontainebleau Hotel caring for celebrities. She married Ferde Peltz, had two children, Joy and Barry, and they lived in North Miami Beach. Francine worked with Ferde managing his accounting practice, then worked part time with Barry building his video business. Her true vocation was antiques. For 50 years she was an antique dealer with multiple antique booths in malls in Dade and Broward counties. Later she opened Its Antiques in North Miami which was featured in Architectural Digest. She was quoted as saying: "The new theory is to display only three items at a time elegantly, but I prefer clutter." She loved beautiful objects and hated to part with them. She was a life member of Hadassah and the American Cancer Society. She taught her children Tsedakah by her unique example of giving directly to individuals while preserving their dignity or creating work for them. She loved her family dearly and is survived by children Barry Peltz, Joy Spill (Nicholas) , step grandsons, Tristan (Kristin) and Toby Spill, step great grandchildren Owen, Logan and Ursula, and brother Jay Boxer (Dennis Gaetano). She was a true woman of valor and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Donations may be made to Jewish Community Services of South Florida. Funeral Monday October 13, 2014 at Lakeside Memorial 10 am.
