Gerald Silver's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Silver, 83, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Washington, DC, Jerry was the youngest child of Ben and Sylvia Silver. At age 15, he moved with his family to Miami Beach, Florida, where he built a life defined by deep relationships, generosity, and quiet strength.
Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susan Silver, whose partnership and love were the center of his life. He is survived by his devoted children, Lauri (David Hochberg) and Michael (Robyn Silver). “Papa” will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren Benjamin Hochberg, Madison Silver, Jacqueline Hochberg, and Savanah Silver. He is also survived by his sister, Anita Krakower, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Jerry had a rare gift for connecting with people—his warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a guiding presence and mentor within his family, offering wisdom, support, and encouragement across generations.
He will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave.
