In Loving Memory of Dr. Gladys Charlotte Morse (3/28/1934-10/19/2025)
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Educator, and Friend
Dr. Gladys Charlotte Morse, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and visionary educator, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 19, 2025. Gladys was the beloved wife of the late Eugene (Gene) Marvin Morse, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and purpose. In the last years of her life, Gladys was blessed to share her days with Stanley Kaplan, a wonderful man who brought her warmth, love, companionship, and joy. She was the cherished mother of Terri Morse Bachow (Paul) and of Steven Alan Edward Morse (Kerrie). She was the proud and loving grandmother of Stephen Bachow, Noah Bachow (Gabrielle), Matthew Anczarki, and Rebekah Anczarki, and the adoring great-grandmother of Brooks Bachow and Selene Bachow. Gladys also shared a special bond with Dennis Patton, who was like a second son to her. His devotion, kindness, and love brought her great comfort and joy throughout her life. Gladys grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn and met her beloved husband at the age of 14. They spent most of their married life in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. As they grew up together, Gladys tried a variety of jobs/business ventures all while going to school at night. She found her passion in helping children with learning disabilities overcome their disabilities. A woman of remarkable intelligence, compassion, and determination, Gladys earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership along with two Master’s degrees (Special Education and Learning Disabilities). Her lifelong dedication to helping children with emotional and
behavioral challenges defined her extraordinary career and enduring legacy. Over 32 years ago, she founded Garfield Park Academy in Willingboro, New Jersey, beginning with just one teacher and one student. Under her visionary leadership, the school flourished and has since served over 10,000 children, transforming countless lives through education, Gladys will forever be remembered for her courage, beautiful spirit, kind heart, and nurturing soul. She was a loyal friend, a loving matriarch, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply. In lieu flowers, the family, kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Dr. Gladys Charlotte Morse to Garfield Park Academy, a close cause to our mother’s heart.
