Gloria Cooperman's Obituary
Gloria Cooperman of Sherman, CT, passed away at home with her family at her side Friday September 18, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born August 10, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Panich) Baruch. She was a proud graduate of Lafayette HS in Brooklyn. Gloria had worked as a bookkeeper for several firms over her lifetime retiring in 1994. After retiring she moved to Hallandale Beach, FL and then Pembroke Pines, FL where she was very active volunteering at Memorial hospital in Pembroke Pines and Hallandale Beach Fire Department. In 2016 she moved to Sherman CT. While living in Sherman she was an active and appreciative member of the Sherman Senior Center. She loved her arts and crafts activities as well as being an active reader. She looked forward to her Friday Maj Jong games at the JCC in Sherman, as well as taking care of her plants. Gloria was predeceased by her partner of 30 years Abraham Silver. Gloria is survived by her son Henry Cooperman and his wife Trudy of Sherman, CT; daughters Marcia Posner of Hallandale Beach FL, and Donna Cooperman of Brooklyn NY; grandchildren Joshua Posner (Libby), Kimberlee Cotter (Bruce), Neil Cooperman and Alyssa Cooperman and great grandchildren Layla Cooperman, Shayna and Charley Posner, Samantha Cotter and Jessica Jimenez. A private funeral service will take place at Temple Sholom in New Milford. Interment will take place in Beth David Memorial Gardens, Hollywood, FL. Donations in her memory may be made to JCC in Sherman, or Sherman Library Association, Sherman CT.
