Gloria Maya's Obituary
MAYA, Gloria, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend passed away February 25 surrounded by family. Gloria was born on April 1, 1935 in Cuba, daughter of Max and Emila Tachmes. Raised in Havana, she met the love of her life, David, and moved to Miami in 1962 to raise their children. Gloria took the greatest joy in her family, with many wonderful occasions filled with laughter, friends and music. Gloria was an active member and volunteer at Hadassah, Temple Menorah and the Cuban-Hebrew Congregation of Miami Beach.
Preceding Gloria in death were her parents, her husband, David, and her brother, Dr. Pablo Tachmes. She is survived by her children Dora Maya, Albert Litter, Victor Maya and Marcy Maya, her grandchildren Paulina and David Litter, Lynsey, Daniel, Kevin & Halle Maya, her nephews Alexander Tachmes and Dr. Leonard Tachmes, and her sister-in-law Eugenia Tachmes. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. TODAY, February 26, 2016 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery, 1125 NW 137th Street, Miami. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 865-2353
