Henrique (Itzhak) Katz z”l
Born April 6, 1929 to an Orthodox Jewish family of 7 siblings in the Slovak Republic. Only he and 2 brothers survived WWII. As a child survivor he traveled to Palestine. He fought in the war of independence with the Palmach, Zvah Hagana, and helped build kibbutz Dorot in the Negev Desert. There he met his wife Shoshana, also a survivor of holocaust. They were married until her death in 2009. They had 3 children in Israel, their oldest daughter Sara and twin girls Judith and Michaela. The young family moved to Venezuela, to reunite with his brothers; later they had their son Edi. He established a successful business and grew it into a large company with a factory and many franchise locations. He retired to Sunny Isles in 1998. Predeceased by his wife and his daughters Sara and Michaela.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Survived by his children Judith and Edi, his son in law Paul, his grandchildren Erick, Irving, Naomi, and Jonathan and his grandson in law Howie, and his great grandson Gabriel. Family will be sitting shiva at his home.
