Herbert G. Henry's Obituary
With deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Herbert George Henry, 84, on February 8, 2026, in Tamarac, Florida. Born in Cheapside, Manchester, Jamaica, to Charles and Muriel Henry, Herbert married and immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, where he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and built a life centered on family, love, and service. In later years he retired to Tamarac and was loved and cared for by his stepdaughters Carlia and Althea (Debbie) and her children his Amashika, Omar, and Daniel.
Herbert will be remembered for his generosity, kind heart, sense of responsibility and loyalty.
He is survived by his daughter Melta Henry; devoted granddaughter; Amashika Rose ; sister, Beryl Saunchez; brother-in-law, Sherlock Saunchez; niece, Rosemarie Saunchez-Barosy; stepdaughters Carlia Francis and Althea Reynolds, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 21, 2026, from 12:00–1:00 PM, with viewing from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, at Alexander Levitt Funeral Home & Cremation, 8145 West McNab Road, Tamarac, Florida 33321. Herbert will be laid to rest immediately following at Bailey Memorial Gardens 7801 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
Though he is no longer with us, Herbert’s memory will live on forever in our hearts.
