Mr. Max of Boats Unlimited and Richard Helton, were my bosses and mentors when I was 16,17 and 18 years old. One day he and Richard had a disagreement on which side of the street something had to be stored. I took it across the busy 441 road and Mr. Max told me to take it back, Richard then told me to take it back and then Mr. Max said take it back. By the third time I was in the middle of 441 traffic and the 2 of them were arguing across the road. I abandoned my mission to save my life!!! Not sure of the final outcome, but you know...Mr. Max was the boss.
When the rock band, Steely Dan, purchased a ski boat, they told me to give the boat washer a $100 tip...I volunteered for the job.
I also got the same tip from cash buyers of a jet boat...we kinda suspected they were drug runners.
Mr. Max was a great guy that influenced my work ethic and I thank him for that.
