Ina Kratz's Obituary
Ina Spector Kratz, 79, formerly of Marblehead Ina Spector Kratz of Aventura, Florida, passed away on July 5, 2012. She was 79. Ina will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was always ready with a cheerful smile, a helping hand and an open heart, forming rich and loving relationships that lasted a lifetime. She was born to Joseph and Ethel Green Spector in 1933 in Boston and grew up there, and in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and Sanford, Maine, with her brother, Elliot Spector of Peabody, Massachusetts, and her sister and lifelong best friend, Marilyn Levingston of Aventura. Ina met her beloved husband, Michael Kratz, at a Jewish community dance in 1954 when she was just 21. Introduced by their mutual and still dear friend, Marilyn Gorman, they were married for 57 years and raised two sons, Jordan of Portland, Maine, and Barton (Sara) of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves behind a dear grandson, Alex Peters, and deeply cherished nieces and nephews. Ina had a great sense of style and made a warm and inviting home for her family in Lynn and then Marblehead for over 20 years, and in Aventura since retiring there in 1991. Ina was very active in Hadassah, the JCC, Temple Sinai in Marblehead and the Holocaust Center, and was honored for her work for the Israeli Bonds effort.
