Irene Maxwell's Obituary
Irene Berman Maxwell was born in Washington, DC in April 2026, to Mollye and Samuel Berman. Her parents, her brother Bradly Berman, and her sister, Trudy Epstein predeceased her.
Irene attended George Washington University, after which she married Myron (“Mike”) Maxwell and moved to Margate, New Jersey. In 1962, Irene moved to Daytona Beach, Florida with her husband and their three children. She stayed in Daytona Beach until 1979, when she relocated to Miami, Florida. In Miami, Irene started a successful business as a librarian for interior designers, which she enjoyed immensely.
Irene had three children: Michael Maxwell of New York City and Los Angeles, who predeceased her; Amanda Maxwell of Miami, Florida; and James Maxwell of New York City. She also had two adoring grandchildren, Nora and Mira Maxwell, who live in New York City, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Irene was a wonderful and very loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She passed peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family,
A memorial service was held on November 4, 2025.
Irene’s family extends special thanks to her caregivers, Carline and Debbie. She will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
