Irving S. Rabinowitz's Obituary
Irving S. Rabinowitz, a beloved son, brother, uncle and dear friend, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 94, in Hollywood, Florida.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 14, 1930, to Mollie and Simon Rabinowitz, Irving spent much of his early life in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, a place that shaped the character of a man who would go on to leave a lasting mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
Irving was the middle child in the Rabinowitz family, growing up alongside his younger sister, Ruth Pikitch, and his older brother, Efrem Rabinowitz, both of whom predeceased him.
A proud veteran, Irving served honorably in the U.S. Army in the 1950’s attaining the rank of Corporal and serving during the Korean War. He was wounded and awarded several metals and honors for his dedicated service to our country.
Irving attended the State University of New York where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.
A hardworking and driven individual, Irving worked diligently throughout his sales career in the textiles industry, ultimately retiring to sunny Florida, where he continued to enjoy life in the warmth of Pembroke Pines at Century Village. In his last year, he moved to Five Star Premiere Independent Living in Hollywood, Florida.
Irving will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, sense of humor, strength and the love he had for his family and friends. A man of few words but immense heart, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to dance, travel and attend various shows and dinners with his close friends and family.
Irving’s legacy lives on through the memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known him. He is survived by his nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will remember him with great affection.
May his memories be a blessing to all that knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice in Irving’s memory.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST at Beth David Memorial Gardens, 3201 N. 72nd Ave. Hollywood, Florida. The service will also be available on Zoom. Viewneral Service Name: Irving Rabinowitz Funeral Service
