Irwin B. Baron's Obituary
Irwin B. Baron "Irnie", 96, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away January 28, 2024, at home with several members of his family at his side.
Irne was born on January 13, 1928, in Hartford, CT to Louis and Esta Baron, the owners of Baron's Furniture Mart in East Hartford, CT where Irne worked and managed for years. Irne was predeceased by his sister Doris Golinsky.
As a child Irne joined the Troop 69 Boy Scouts and started a marching band there. His passion for music and scouting lasted over 70 years.
Irne married Joyce White and raised three children: Lynn Ludwin, Marlene Iadarola, Michael Baron, and an adopted child Gary Mansfield. He has eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Irne joined the Navy during World War II and served on the USS Aristaeus ship in the Pacific and was in the Battle of Okinawa. Mr. Baron and Joyce moved from Connecticut to Pembroke Pines, Florida in 1980 after selling the furniture store where he started a new business dealing with custom shirts and baseball caps and patches.
Irne was remarried to Faye White in 2009 and shared 14 years together traveling the world. The enjoyed many cruises and Footlighters shows. Irne earned many awards throughout his life:
*Hartford Rotary club member of the year
*Scouting: The order of the Arrow Award, The Silver Beaver Award
*Footlighter of the Year Award
*Phoenix Florida Awards-American Legion
*State of Connecticut State Troopers Award
His service to our Country and family will be missed.
