Ita Zamin passed away on May 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and deep compassion. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Ita was the loving mother of the late Efim Derevitsky and John Zamin, and to Tanya . She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Inna Derevitsky, Suella Velez, Joshua Szymanski, Sebastian Szymanski, and Leah Szymanski, and a cherished great-grandmother to Justin, Juliana, Sasha, and Mason, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
She was the dear sister of Simon Segal, Pauline Visnovsky, and the late Elizaveta Goryanaya. Ita was also a loving aunt to Angelika Kuris, the late CJ Segal, Annette Spaulding, and Stanley Visnovsky, and great aunt to Lawrence, Daniel, Kaitlynn, Elizabeth, Adam, Sophia and Jacqueline, maintaining close and meaningful relationships with her extended family throughout her life.
Known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family, Ita created a home filled with warmth, wisdom, and care. Her strength through life’s challenges and her ability to bring comfort and support to others will always be remembered. Though she will be deeply missed, Ita’s memory will live on through the generations of family who loved her dearly and through the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit.
