Jack S. Silverman's Obituary
Jack Steven Silverman (May 14, 1948 - September 22, 2023) was the younger son of Joseph and Rose Silverman. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA on the exact day and year that Israel became a state. Jack was raised with his older brother, Phillip. As a child he played the french horn and trumpet and was an avid sports fan.
He was self-sufficient from a young age and worked full time while attending Temple University, where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. Jack worked hard to support his family, using his degree to design and install commercial fire alarms.
In 1969, while visiting Miami Beach during a winter break from college, he was introduced to Beverly on a blind date and quickly realized that he never wanted to leave her side. They married in 1971 and welcomed their first born, Joshua, in 1974. Marc joined the family 3 years later. After moving to South Florida, Alison completed the family.
Jack & Beverly were happily married for 52 years. He was an amazing husband, devoted father, and an extremely selfless man. He spent all of his free time with his family, volunteering to coach the boys’ basketball and baseball teams.
He enjoyed watching his children grow up and loved their spouses - Jocelyn, Jason, and Halli like his own children. Being “Grandpop” to Shia, Jordyn, Henry, Ivy, and Arthur was his greatest joy, and he was excited to attend all of their events. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Graveside service will be held Sunday September 24, 2023 at 11:30 am at Beth David Memorial Gardens located 3201 N 72nd Avenue Hollywood, FL 33024
