Jacqueline "Jackie" Ruth Blumenthal's Obituary
Jacqueline Ruth (Jackie) Blumenthal, 91, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, at home in Coral Gables on Sunday, December 5, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Blumenthal.
Jackie was born to Lillian and Isadore Goldblatt in St. Louis, Missouri on May 18, 1930. Raised in New Orleans and then Spartanburg, South Carolina, Jackie graduated from Spartanburg High and then studied fine art at the University of Miami. It was there she met her first husband and father of her three children, Danny Weinstein.
As a lifelong artist, Jackie was a passionate painter and art lover; but most of all an amazing mother with a big and kind heart. There was always room for friends and even strangers at her table.
As a mother, mom said, Life is the Experience, go out and live it! That she did to her fullest. Jackie was preceded in death by two husbands, Danny Weinstein and Harold Seligman, and by her brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Lydia Goldblatt.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Ed H. Blumenthal; her brother Joe Goldblatt (Susan); her sons, Rick Weinstein and Joel Weinstein (Patty); and her daughter, Linda Joy Weinstein. She is also survived by seven stepchildren, Brian Seligman (Susie), Ivan Seligman and Guy Seligman (Naomi ), Bob Blumenthal (Ellen), Bonnie Zeigler (Gary), Scott Blumenthal (Sonia), and Marnie (Lance). Jackie leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Jacqueline (Jackie) Blumenthal to your favorite charity.
