I knew Jackie and Saul most of my life. They were my parents best friends for the longest time.
Every year, when I was growing up, our families would meet in Florida. Jackie and I spent time together, where she'd give me fashion advice and advice about boys & love.
We would sit by the pool, go shopping together, where I'd be eager for her fashion tips, which were many and in the evening, both families would dine at the same table. After all, we were on the American plan. Haha.
She was like an aunt to me, she was family. There were times where her and Saul would come visit for some special occasion- a bat mitzvah, engagement party, a wedding and I'd see them again. They were very present in our lives.
As I got older and my mother died young, Jackie and I would often share memories of her and our times together. We'd have many laughs about all the good times and it helped keep my mothers memory alive. Jackie was beautiful, funny and generous in spirit.
I made it a point to talk with her a few times a year and catch up and keep our bond fluid. I even saw her and Saul on the rare times I went to Florida.
I will miss her. She lived.a long full life, but knowing she's no longer here, will forever leave a void in me. She remains forever in my heart.
