I developed a strong appreciation for Janet over the short time I knew her. Her strength of character, passion for living and kindness won my heart. I loved her un-diluted personality. If she truly had mellowed with age, I can't even imaging what she was like as a young woman. It makes me smile to think of her "full throttle" approach. I enjoyed hearing her opinions on the way the world should be run as well as her humorous take on how the world was actually being run. Yet, she always seemed interested in me, asking how I was, remembering certain sticky challenges I was facing - always with honest feedback and coaching. I imagine she was one of the original "strong women" when strong women weren't common and maybe not even that popular. I liked and admired Janet. She is gone too soon and we'll all be the worse for the loss of her passionate, fiery presence.
