Jay Milton Rand's Obituary
Rand, Jay Milton, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family December 15, 2015. Jay was born on May 18, 1931 in Bronx, NY to Abraham Rand and Goldie Weiner Rand. After graduating Miami Beach High School in 1949, Jay served two years in the US Army in Korea. He graduated from the University of Miami.
He married the love of his life, Eileen Solomon Rose, August 28, 1959. He is survived by his wife of 56 years and their four children: Hilary Rose, Robin Rose (Karen), Andrew Rand (Sid) and Erin Buzzella (James); seven grandchildren: Ericka, Naomi, Micah, Jonathan, Sequoia, Jasmine and Trey; and four great-grandchildren: Alex, Kylianne, Aidan and William. His family was the source of his greatest pride and joy.
Jay was a Certified Public Accountant retiring at age 80. He was dearly loved by his family and numerous friends, many dating back to high school. He was President of the Mens Club at Temple Beth Moshe, member of the North Miami Elks Lodge 1835 and a philanthropist.
He was an avid golfer, traveler, story and joke teller, and longtime Dolphins fan. He was known for his keen mind, quick wit, kind heart, strong morality and deep generosity.
He always did the right thing and taught by example.
A memorial service will be held in his honor December 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Beth David/Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel 3201 NW 72 Avenue, Hollywood Florida 33024 (954) 963-2400
