Oh my goodness! I just called to make an appointment with Dr. Hertz and was told they didn't have a doctor by that name. Still determined to find him, I went to Google and discovered he has passed. My sincere condolences to his family. I only saw him a few times over the last 20 years, but I liked him and always felt good about being under his care. I began going to him after a coworker recounted an emergency with her husband, after which her husband said words to the effect, "If I'm ever in trouble, I want THAT guy taking care of me."
May he Rest in Peace and his memory be a blessing.

I am sorry that it has been many months before learning of Dr Hertz death. My husband was a patient of Dr. Hertz. He actually saved his life after a long 12 hr surgery. So sorry to hear of his passing. My husband passed away in June of this year. Name of Bob.

Just learned of Dr. Hertz’ passing. He was a wonderfully kind and accomplished physician. My husband was his patient and he was shocked and saddened to hear this news. May Dr. Hertz’ memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

Jeff and I were residents together in Jacksonville. I never did convert him to being a gator! We called him the bulldog, because if he were given any task, no matter what, he always grabbed onto it, like a bulldog, and did not turn loose until it was completed in an excellent manner. He was a good friend, And a splendid physician and surgeon.

I had the pleasure of working with him at Memorial Regional and he had taken great care of my mother, was always available if I needed anything. He will be missed by many of us who worked with him.
