Joanne "Joni" Tate's Obituary
Joanne "Joni" (Greenwood) Tate, 93 of Bal Harbour, Florida passed away peacefully at her home in Bal Harbour on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Joanne “Joni “was born in Akron, Ohio in 1931. Her family moved to Miami Beach in the mid 1930’s where she grew up and went to elementary, middle and high school. She went to a finishing school in North Florida and then to University of Florida where she met and married Stanley G. Tate.
They raised their family in Bay Harbor and were active in Temple Israel and many South Florida organizations. Joni was fun, smart, caring about others and loved playing Bridge. In fact, she was Grand Master Bridge Player. She was a shining light to her friends and family, and she has left an indelible mark with everyone who were blessed to know her.
Joni was a beloved wife of the late Stanley G. Tate, a loving mother of Kenny (Sandy), Linda (Bob) and Jimmy (Janie), proud grandmother of Jennifer, Stefanie, Jaclyn (Michael), Andy, Ric, Jordyn (Aharon), Erin (Landon) and Megan (Zack), adoring great-grandmother of Liam, Noa, Chloe, Hudson, Jett, Jaxson and Mia.
The family requests donations in memory of Joanne "Joni" Tate to Mount Sinai Medical Center, www.msmc.com/foundation. Chapel Service will be held on Sunday,
