When Joel and my sister started dating I was 14 years old. Since then, he has been the big brother I never had. Anytime I needed anything he was there for me, no questions asked. One time I was at work at Aventura Mall and I became extremely sick and was in a lot of pain. I didn't have a car so I called Joel. He immediately dropped what he was doing and came to pick me up to drive me to Aventura hospital. For those who don't know, the hospital is pretty much across the street, so it's a quick drive. But because I was crying out in pain it wasn't quick enough for him. He wanted to get me there fast so he drove like a maniac, popping curbs, cutting people off, running lights, you name it. He got me there and got me into the er. I remember that day like it was yesterday even though it happened 13 years ago. Joel was my hero that day and many more days after that. He would have moved mountains for the people he loved. I know that because that day 13 years ago he did move mountains for me. I have never known anyone with a bigger heart than Joel. I just hope that he knew how loved he was by me and so many other people. Rest easy big brother, you have a special place in my heart forever and always 💙
