Joel Hochberg's Obituary
Joel Hochberg, 87, of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully Tuesday,
April 18, 2023. Joel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marcia; children, Eileen and Scott; grandchildren, Bradley and Shayna; brother, Donald (Marilyn); nieces and nephews, Michele (Larry) Berger, Bonnie (Jerry) Eskowitz, Sandi (Steven) Berkins, Ellen Peruche, Robert (Lisa) Hochberg, Matthew (Jessica) Aminoff and Johanna (Johnny) Aylsworth; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Joel was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 30, 1935. He and Marcia moved their family to North Miami Beach in 1970. He began his career in the coin-operated amusement business and later became a pioneer of consumer video games. Children's education was always important to Joel, and his success allowed him to establish the Hochberg Lower and Middle Schools. His devotion to family, education, and his other philanthropic pursuits were his lifelong passion. Joel will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy lives on through the many lives he has enriched.
The funeral celebrating Joel's life will be held Friday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m. - Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus, 20350 NE 26 Ave., Miami, FL 33180. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus,
