Joel M. Weiner's Obituary
An adored and much loved husband, father and grandfather, Joel Weiner, 86, passed away on June 1, 2018 after a long fight with congestive heart failure. Joel was a graduate of Miami Beach High School, Class of 1950, attended the University of Florida and was a 4 year Naval veteran of the Korean War.
Joel was very athletic throughout his life, playing football, biking, racquetball and loved all sports, especially his favorite home teams the Hurricanes, Dolphins, Heat and Marlins.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Esther Mervish Weiner, sons Lawrence, Andrew (Maribel) and daughter Leslie Barr (Phillip), sister Marjorie Harnick (Brian) and his adored grandchildren, Corin, (Justine), Bianca, Rachel, Hayley, Kimberly, Caroline and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Joel’s memory to Vitas Hospice, 5420 NW 33rd Ave., Suite 100, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309, who devoted loving care to his last few weeks.
Funeral service and interment will be observed Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 3201 NW 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024 (305) 932-2700.
