John Philip Capurso's Obituary
John P. Capurso, born July 7, 1939 passed peacefully on May 4, 2026. Born and raised in New York, John studied advertising design at Rochester Institute of Technology. Over the years, he worked in advertising and fundraising in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Miami, Florida, most recently serving as principal of Capurso Consulting. John lived most of his life in Miami where he was able to enjoy playing golf on a regular basis. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Angela Capurso; brother, Gary (Roz) Capurso of Florida; sister-in-law, Ellie Helfrich (Mike Helbling) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Longboat Key, Florida; brother-in-law, Harry (Mary) Guss of Miami and brother-in-law, Jeff Guss of Pittsburgh; nieces, Sara Helfrich (Chris Hayes) of Missouri and Emma (Justin) Bowlby of Florida and several additional nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Mary Capurso of Florida.
