John Robert Whatley's Obituary
John R. Whatley “Bob” our patriarch passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025 at 8pm. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, a wonderful father, a devoted grandfather, and a loving brother. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to New York in 1962 to pursue a career in finance culminating in ownership of a seat on the Chicago Board of Trade and a leading role in the development of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange.
After 61 years of marriage, He is survived by his wife Glenda his children Marci and OJ (Evelyn) and his 5 grandchildren: Michelle, Ariella, Elana, Ian, and Spencer, and his loving sister Judy. He will always be remembered for his generosity and unwavering kindness.
Services will be held Friday, April 25th, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Levitt Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 18840 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33180, (305) 932-2700. Interment to follow at Temple Beth El Cemetery in Davie, Florida.
Shiva will be observed at 3:00 p.m. at 3510 North 32nd Terrace, Hollywood FL 33021
