Jose Chavin's Obituary
CHAVIN, Jose 87, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2016. Born in 1929 in Guantanamo, Cuba, he was known for his sense of humor and generosity, adored by family and friends. To know Jose Chavin was to love him. As witty as he was kind, his presence brought laughter and joy wherever he went. Jose never lost his sense of humor, overcoming adversity with optimism and ingenuity. He was proud of his Jewish heritage, his Cuban background, and his American citizenship, serving in the United States Air Force in the early 1960’s, then going on to achieve a successful career as a jewelry designer and manufacturer. A member of Temple Menorah and Temple Beth Shmuel, Cuban Hebrew Congregation, Jose was active in the Jewish community in Miami Beach. It was his nature to provide comfort and help to anyone in need. Jose is survived by his devoted wife Enele, son Michael (Inga), grandchildren Kimberly and Nicholas, sisters Lily and Sarita, and their families. A very bright light has gone out. Jose, you will be terribly missed by everyone who knew you. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 13, 1:00 pm at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th St., Doral.
