Thomas Yarborough
Joe was to direct a play I wrote "LOVES, LIES and LIBATION" in 1992 at the Shores Theater. We had just finished open calls and were about to start rehearsals when hurricane Andrew hit and changed all plans.
I lost touch with Joe after that as I moved out of Miami but when I learned he was director at Gables, I made a trip down to see him and a play he was directing.
It was great to see him afterwards and reminiscing. We talked about doing the play again.
I think often about him and the stories we had shared. He and I were both recovering addicts with ill wives. His wife died shortly before mine and we were both liberals.
Joe pushed me to be shocking with my characters, although I did not incorporate all of it, he pushed me.
I hope Noah is doing well.
