Joseph Julius Fisher's Obituary
On March 1, 2016 our father, Joseph Fisher was embraced into eternal life by his son Dr. Ronald H. Fisher and his sister Elaine Fisher Sealy. He was born on November 27, 1936, to Ruben Fisher and Jean Bart in New York, NY. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp, and married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara, on Oct 26, 1957. Together they had a very full and fruitful life. They raised three children and gave them the best of everything. They were fortunate enough to spend 58 years together and have so many accomplishments to show for it. Not only did they own their own businesses, Aqualand Pets and Sporting Goods, in the Bronx and White Plains, N.Y. ,and later Aqualand Aquarium in Stuart FL; but they also published a magazine known as the Florida Fishing News, after moving to Miami in 1973. Later in life, when most would be winding down, the two of them went back to school together and earned their Law degree. Our Dad practiced criminal defense alongside our Mom, Fisher and Fisher, in Miami. He is survived by his loving and devoted Wife, Barbara Somen Fisher, two daughters, Beth Baxter and Sheryl Fisher Bisch and their husbands, Greg Baxter and Andre Bisch , five grandchildren, Daniel (and Liz) Denson, Benjamin Baxter, Erin Sloss, Emily Baxter and Nicole Sloss. We are very thankful that we had the opportunity to have this man as our father and Grandfather (Bop-Bop). It was our honor to be at his side when his journey here on earth came to its completion. Although he is no longer with us, his life, love and memories will remain alive in our hearts forever. We love you. Chapel services will take place at Beth David Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, Florida Sunday March 6, 2016 at 2pm.
