Joseph Grabarnick's Obituary
GRABARNICKJoseph 1916-2012, age 95 passed away surrounded by his family on February 25, 2012 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was born July 19, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to Jake and Mary Grabarnick and had 1 brother and 4 sisters. Joseph married Caroline Feder on February 25, 1940 in Bronx New York, they were married 72 years. Together they raised 3 children Gene, Lawrence and Rochelle. Shortly after his marriage in 1942 he enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Pacific Campaign during WW2. Upon his return to New York he worked in the produce industry until 1952 when he moved his family to Miami Beach, Florida where he continued to work in the bakery business and later for his two sons and then retired. Joe enjoyed working, gardening, reading and playing cards. Joseph is survived by his wife Caroline of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; daughter Rochelle Medaris of Miami Beach, Florida, sons Gene (Pauline) of Miami Beach, Florida and Lawrence (Hope) of Park City Utah, 6 grand children Tracy (Stuart) Share, Garett Grabarnick, Mindy Rothkoph, Jonas Grabarnick, Adam (Sara) Grabarnick, Jenna Medaris 5 great grand children, Mac Rothkoph, Charlie Rothkoph, Val Share, Ava Share Gavin Grabarnick, sisters Faye Wallackand Celia Castalitto and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents , brother Harry and sisters Elsie Lombardi and Ida Lefbofsky. Funeral services will be held at Blasberg Rubin Zilbert Funeral Home 720-71st. St. Miami Beach, Fl. At 11:00a.m. Tuesday February 28th, where friends and family may gather. Interment will be at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
