Judy Silverman's Obituary
Judith Newmark Silverman passed away on March 11, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support for her family.
Born in Chester Illinois, a small agricultural town on the Mississippi river, Judy’s Midwestern roots and country-life childhood defined her. Born to Ida and Israel David Newmark. Her father, Israel (Doc) Newmark, was a dedicated country doctor.
Judy graduated as valedictorian of her high school class, excelling in academics while maintaining her signature bright outlook on life. She was known for her resourcefulness—always able to fix anything—and for her steady, even-tempered presence.
Judy’s intellect and ambition led her to become one of the few women to graduate from Northwestern University’s business program before it became the Kellogg School of Management. She went on to work as an auditor for the IRS, with assignments in both Chicago and New York. Her work even brought her to radio audiences.
Judy shared a 62-year partnership with her beloved husband, Barry. She supported him through his medical training, medical practice, business ventures and in later years their philanthropic endeavors. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her unwavering dedication to family remained a constant, guiding force throughout her life.
After multiple moves, Judy and Barry finally established their roots in South Florida in 1973, where they built a warm and loving home. She will always be remembered for her extraordinary mind, her ability to find the bright side in any situation, and the unconditional love she showered upon her family.
Judy is survived by her husband, Barry, her two daughters and son-in-laws, Ronni & Paul Bianco, Laurie Silverman & Carlos Hleap, and her three wonderful grandchildren—Cole, Grant, and Sydney Bianco along with her brother, Lewis Newmark - a family who loved her deeply.
The family asks all donations go to Jackson Memorial Hospital in care of Dr. Alan Livingstone.
