Kenneth Seitzman's Obituary
Ken, or Kenny Seitzman, born on 10/11/46 in Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on 5/12/16. He was much loved by his survivors: his wife Patti, son Adam, and mother-in-law Cynthia, as well as his brother in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Carol Greenfield, nieces Robyn and Rachel, and nephew Darron. Included are his aunts Shirley and Ruth, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Dorothy and Archie Seitzman, and father-in-law Herb Greenfield. He was loved and respected by many friends, some of whom he taught with in the Miami-Dade County Schools. He was a teacher at Golden Glades Elementary School and Natural Bridge Elementary School, for a total of 37 years. He taught the various grades, and for his last 3 years, English for Speakers of Other Languages. His students were his favorite audience; for example, he enjoyed telling them stories that he made up, and he always made learning meaningful to them. Kenny very much enjoyed his teaching career. He also had an excellent auditory memory, and loved reciting poems, famous speeches like the Gettysburg Address, and singing entire popular songs. Everywhere he went he made friends, talking to strangers in line, in elevators, and numerous workers he would encounter. He made friends with the servers in his favorite restaurants, too! He loved living in the same house for 42 years and enjoyed standing out front watering the lawn so he would catch his neighbors walking or driving by, just to say hi or to talk. Everyone whose lives he touched loved and respected him. Arrangements by Levitt Weinstein (954) 963-2400.
