Leon Mesnik's Obituary
Another member of the "Greatest Generation" has fallen. Leon Mesnik, 96, of Pompano Beach, FL succumbed to life's inevitable conclusion on 6:53 p.m., October 20, 2015 at Holy Cross Hospice.
Decorated WWII veteran, head of General Patton's topographical map-making unit in the Battle of the Bulge, advertising innovator during the "Mad Men" era, and top-level executive in the discount marketing world, Leon succeeded in all he set out to accomplish, continuing to work until age 88, his last position being consultant for Michael's Craft Stores, based in Dallas, Texas.
He was a doting son to Anna, a devoted younger brother to Dave and Teddy, an adoring husband to Claire, supportive father to Ken and Bill, dedicated uncle to Linda and Sarina, loving grandfather to Jacqueline, Joshua, Jasper, and Max, and great-grandfather to Sophie and Emma.
Leon's family would like to thank him for showing us, by example, how to live a life with integrity, to keep commitments, and honor family above all. We love you, dad. Rest well. You deserve it.
