Leonard Bendell's Obituary
Leonard Bendell and his wife, Roberta (Bobby) Rosenbloom Bendell, previously of Ocala and Sunny Isles Beach, Florida passed away together on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the age of 78. Leonard was born in London, England and grew up in Miami, Florida while Roberta was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Both met while attending the University of Miami and were together in life for more than 60 years, and now are together for eternity. Leonard was an Operations Director in the legal field, while his most notable career was as a director and producer creating educational and wildlife programs around the world. Roberta was an Executive Assistant in the legal field, and her most notable career was as a remedial reading teacher in central Florida.
They always loved being part of the Jewish community. Over the past 15 years, they found home at Temple Sinai of North Dade where Leonard served as a trustee and Treasurer of the congregation, and Roberta fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a Bat Mitzvah just one year ago.
Leonard and Roberta are survived by Leonard’s sister Abbe Bendell of Miami, Florida; children, Howard Bendell of Miami, Florida, Teri (Manuel) Bendell- Bou of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Jaime Press Feldman of Miami, Florida; and grandchildren Geoffrey Bendell of Silver Spring, Maryland and Francisco Bou of Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Private graveside services will be held at Lakeside Memorial Park in Miami, Florida. Donations may be made in their honors to Temple Sinai of North Dade or The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis.
