Lester Engel's Obituary
Lester Engel passed away on May 23, 2021 at the age of 85. He was born on May 26, 1935, in New York City, New York, but resided most of his life in Miami-Dade County. Lester was the eldest son of Morris and Pauline Engelberg and beloved husband of the late Peggy Ann Griffin.
Lester graduate from the University of Miami Law School in 1959, and in his early professional years worked for Gulf American Corporation at chief legal counsel. He later went on to open his own practice with his partner Kenny Schwartz and together they developed a successful transactional law practice which lasted for many decades. His love and dedication to Judaism was evident throughout his life, attending Yesheva and later becoming President of Beth Torah Benny Rok Congregation from 1983-1985. Together with is beloved wife Peggy they raised a loving Jewish family. Lester was an avid tennis player, adventurous white-water rafter and very experienced boater. His family will miss his love, strength, guidance and infinite amount of knowledge.
Lester is survived by his three children, Marcie (Michael), Marc (Mariela), and Lesli; his 9 grandchildren, Alessia, Alexander, Preston, Gabby, Ari, Dani, Aaron, Samantha and Zack; great-granddaughter Grace Margaret and brother Morris (Glenie) Engelberg.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Beth David Memorial Gardens, 3201 N 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, Florida. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 932-2700
