Lina Weinfeld, born in Poland, was the only child of Hersch and Miriam Schneider. She was a medical student who worked as a nurse in Azerbaijan during World War II, where she met her husband, Morris. They lived in Germany briefly before emigrating to the United States in June 1951. They settled in Brooklyn, NY. She was a voracious reader especially of mysteries and best selling fiction. Lina also loved classical music and opera. She kept a Kosher home and observed Shabbos candle lighting, She is survived by her two daughters, Frieda W Landau of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Beverly Closs of Brooklyn, NY and her granddaughter, Melanie Closs of Brooklyn, NY.
