Linda "Lynn" Ruth Westberry's Obituary
WESTBERRY, Linda (Lynn) Ruth (77) Lynn was born in New York on January 8, 1940 to Harry Grossman and Faye Rosen.
She was raised in Miami, Florida and after high school, married Arnold Westberry. They raised 3 sons: David (Dave), Arnold (Buddy), and Kenneth (Kenny); living in Carol City for a few years, and then for many years in Hialeah. Lynn was very devoted to her family and community, serving as a Cub Scout Den mother, working at their school, and providing service as a member of the Auxiliary at Hialeah Hospital. After they were grown, Lynn worked for Hallmark in Hialeah and also in Boca Raton after she and Arnold moved to Delray Beach.
Lynn was always well known for her love of animals, especially cats, and she had many of them for pets over the years, treating them as members of the family. More importantly, Lynn was known for her generous heart and giving nature. She made a point of remembering birthdays and anniversaries, making sure cards were carefully picked and that they would always arrive prior to the person’s special day. Holidays were a special time and she always planned a special meal.
Lynn was an avid reader, especially of books about animals and medical stories. She had always aspired to be a nurse, which is why she chose to be a hospital volunteer for many years.
Lynn leaves behind her beloved husband of 59 years, Arnold; sons: Dave (Dornie), Buddy, and Kenny; and 3 grandchildren: Lyndsey, Michael and Nora. She has touched the hearts of so many family and friends over the years and will always be known as one who did not want to be in the spotlight, but was always there for others. Chapel Service 12:00 noon, TODAY, January 20th at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 5808 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach 33484. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 538-6371
