Linda Morris' Obituary
MORRIS, LINDA J., a long-time Miami Beach resident, passed away July 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She attended Miami Beach High School, obtained a B.S. in Education from Boston University, and took post-graduate courses in exceptional child education at University of Miami and Florida International University. She was a gifted teacher, certified by the State of Florida as a Professional Educator in Elementary Education (Grades 1-6), Emotionally Handicapped (Grades K-12), English To Speakers Of Other Languages (ESOL), and Mentally Handicapped (Grades K-12).
She also had many interests and talents, as an antique and jewelry collector and dealer, licensed real estate salesperson, and stage performer as a member of The Gold Diggers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. M. Riley Morris and Frances (Friedman) Morris. She is survived by her brother Howard Segal, former spouse Martin Segal, first cousins Peter Friedman, Robin (Friedman) Borland, Karen Morris. Marilyn (Morris) Kletter, additional loving relatives and friends.
Linda was a very caring person, beloved by all who were fortunate to have known her. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service to honor her memory will be announced in the future. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice in Linda’s name.
