Lloyd Kolokoff's Obituary
Lloyd Kolokoff, born November 18, 1948, in Englewood, New Jersey, died suddenly, unexpectedly, but peacefully on March 25, 2017, at his home in Miami Shores. He was a devoted, loving father to his children, Jeffrey (Emily), Matthew, and Rachel (Gary), and a doting "Grandpa Wheels" to his granddaughter Abigail. Lloyd is also survived by his brother Marc (Patty) and was predeceased by his parents Solomon and Goldie.
Lloyd left New Jersey as a young man to set out on a path that led to an incredible thirty-eight year career as a great stockbroker. For more than forty years, Lloyd lived in South Florida. Lloyd was paralyzed in 1987, but never let his injuries diminish his spirit. Although each day was a physical challenge he never complained and worked hard to provide in many, many ways for his family. Lloyd's professional accomplishments were surpassed only by his devotion as a father. He enjoyed many adventures with his loved ones, including once in a lifetime trips to places such as Montana, Alaska, Canada, New York, and Las Vegas, as well as nearly annual escapes to Marco Island and Disney World. Lloyd also loved movies, music, and hot dogs.
Lloyd was very proud of his three children and he was over the moon when his granddaughter Abby entered the world in April 2014. "Grandpa Wheels" showered her with love every day. He will be missed immensely! He will attend in spirit. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis www.themiamiproject.org/donate/donation
