Lois Cohn's Obituary
Lois A. Cohn passed away at the age 92 on February 13, 2022 in Aventura, Florida. She lived a full and happy life for many years. There wasn’t a single person who met her that didn’t immediately fall in love with her. Lois was born on January 30, 1930 and grew up on Squirrel Hill in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She met her husband in Ohio in her early twenties and they had three children together, Marc Cohn (1953), Jill Cohn (1955) and Jay Cohn (1958). In 1973, Lois and her three children set out on a journey to Florida. Lois worked as a bartender and eventually opened up a health food restaurant in 1977 on the Newport Pier in Miami named ‘The Cosmic Kitchen & Natural Food Store’. The Natural Food Store served health foods way before anyone knew what healthy foods were as she was early with the concept of healthy foods. Lois was most content as a hippie on the beach! She loved to sit by the ocean with all of her friends and listen to the waves crash onto the shore. Lois was spiritual, intuitive and lived by the terms “live in the moment” and “be here now”. Lois was a strong independent woman and strived to be happy no matter how her day was going. She cared more about people than material things and loved with all of her heart and soul. She loved art and spent many years painting and using water colors. Her artwork lined the walls of her apartment; she took pride in artwork and loved to be creative. Lois was very big into astrology and could honestly look at your face and be able to tell your astrological sign 9 times out of 10, she was right! Lois would tell you all about yourself based off of the date, time and place you were born, she truly was a gift to all that knew her. We loved her dearly and she will be wholeheartedly missed. Lois is survived by her children and their spouses, Marc & Randee Cohn, Jay & Lucia Cohn and Jill Cohn, as well as her granddaughters Sierra Guida and Rachel Cohn and their husbands. We love you beyond words nana, mommy, mom, you gave us the best knowledge and so much love, we know you’ll always be with us.
Strive to be like Lois, be kind to everyone you meet.
