Lorraine Cohen's Obituary
Lorraine Cohen (neè Halpern) passed on Thursday, July 27, 2023. She was born January 7, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. Born to parents of Russian immigrants, Lorraine spent her youth watching after her siblings and learning the office secretarial trade. After graduating, Lorraine worked as a secretary at her former high school, Thomas Jefferson. Thereafter, she also worked as a model for Ford Motor Company. Around that time, she met the love of her life, Louis Cohen, a New York police officer and Army veteran. Lou and Lorraine married in 1947 and were married until Lou’s death in 1996. Lorraine spent her later years traveling the globe with her companion Mike Stoll, a Holocaust survivor and member of the Jewish partisans in Poland led by the Bielski Brothers. Whenever she entered a room, she turned heads and once they were turned, she maintained their attention with her natural wit and charm. Lorraine was one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Daniel, Randee, and Eric and their spouses, Deanna, Rick and Donna; her grandchildren, Scott, Danielle, Matt, Rob, Josh, Alana and their spouses or significant others, Elizabeth, Eric, Stephanie, Tiffany, Greer and Jordan; and, her great-grandchildren, Lantz, Taylar, Peyton, Eli, Noah, and Levi.
