Louis Grossman's Obituary
GROSSMAN, Louis, 97, of Miami Beach, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away at home by peacefully closing his eyes on October 15th. Louis Grossman went to Lincoln High School and graduated from Cornell University. He was a star football player and boxer at Cornell. He was the president of ZBT fraternity. During World War II he was stationed in Miami to buy produce for the US Army. Once he had a taste of Miami Beach, he never left. He married his High School Sweetheart, Roslyn Schachter Grossman. They had three children Theodore Grossman, Fredi Grossman Consolo and Gail Grossman. Roslyn passed away in 1984 after a valiant battle with cancer. Louis was a Founder at Temple Beth Sholom and The Jewish Home for the Aged; a member of the Grand Society for Mt Sinai Hospital; and a Grand Founder at UM Sylvester. He also gave generously to Thanks to Scandinavia and Howard University. He is survived by his loving children: Theodore (Pat) Grossman, Fredi (Robert) Consolo & Gail Grossman (Jeff) Gidney; cherished grandchildren: Lisa (Mark) Smith, , Darin Grossman, Bobby (Jacey Birch Consolo) Consolo, Gina Philips Consolo (Lee) Nelson, Dr. Brett (Kerry) Gidney & Dana Gidney (Rodney) Fetaya; adoring great grandchildren: Sean, Logan, Siena, Jake, Chloe, Ava and Zac; Evelyn Grossman his present wife. In lieu of other offerings, contributions in Louis Grossman's memory may be made to the "UM Miller School of Medicine-Urology/Dr. Soloway Research”, P.O. Box 016960 (R-100), Miami, FL 33101. Funeral Services to be held Thursday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Doral, FL 33172.
