Louis Perez's Obituary
Louis J. Perez, May 5, 1949 – January 31, 2017 loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, died Tuesday evening. He was a kind, loving and devoted man who cherished life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was a gentleman and a scholar, whose love of learning was only surpassed by his love for his family.
Louis was an accomplished executive who traveled the world, won multiple awards and earned a Master’s Degree in Transportation from SUNY Maritime College in New York. Additionally he garnered a Bachelor’s Degree from Long Island University.
Louis served as Director of Marketing at Port Canaveral and as Deputy Director at the Port of Palm Beach. Throughout his rise in transportation he held various other positions with Shipping & Freight lines and served as CEO of his own company, Cove Marine Associates, as consult to other companies and niche ports in New York, Florida and Internationally.
Upon retiring, he continued this passion by writing for multiple trade magazines.
Louis is survived by his wife, Margie, his daughter Cassandra and his 3 grandchildren, Julien, Audrey and Maxwell and many friend and extended family. He will be sorely missed by all who had the wonderful opportunity of knowing and working with him.
