Lucille Herman Lovitt's Obituary
Lucille "Lucy" Herman Lovitt, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at the age of 102. Born in New York, she grew up on Long Island and graduated from Lawrence High School. She went to work as a model in the NYC garment industry. She met and married her husband, Daniel Herman, in 1941. They had three daughters: Nan, Marsha, and Laura; and were married for 43 years before his passing.
Lucy worked with her husband in the family retail business, Sandra Post, for many years. She was also involved with charitable causes including Variety Children's Hospital and Temple Beth Sholom. She married her second husband, Irving Lovitt, and they were married for 22 years before his death.
Lucy lived at the Vi in Aventura where she continued her active life; always keeping up with current events, reading books and the newspaper every day. She continued to be a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother – never forgetting a birthday or an anniversary!
She is survived by her daughters Nan (David) Rich, Marsha Rimokh, Laura (John) Pomerantz; her grandchildren Laurie Rich Levinson, Larry Rich, Marcie (Bret) Rich, Jennifer Rich, Steven (Elizabeth) Sandler, Julie Sandler, and Marnie Pomerantz; her great-grandchildren Daniel Levinson, Robert Levinson, Hannah Levinson, Leah Sandler, Jameson Sandler and Brody Sandler. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Levitt Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 18840 W. Dixie Hwy., North Miami Beach, Florida 33180. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at Temple Dor Dorim from
2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., 2360 Glades Circle, Weston, Florida 33327.
