Reverend Luis Alonso Gordon's Obituary
Reverend Luis Gordon was a devoted father, cherished brother, beloved son, and faithful servant of God. He was blessed with eight children: Christopher, Shannon (preceded him in death), Margarita (Jeffrey), Tony (preceded him in death) Tanika, Teresita (Micardo), Luis Jr. and Rayshod. He was also the proud grandfather of sixteen grandchildren — fourteen boys and two girls — who brought great joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother (Perla Gordon) and his sister Jenny and is survived by his sisters, Iris (mother of three) and Lillian (mother of two). Reverend Gordon was also known as the “greatest uncle,” treasuring the bonds he shared with his nieces, nephew, and extended family.
Throughout his career, Reverend Gordon excelled as a general manager in the restaurant industry and went on to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams, successfully owning and operating two restaurants. His dedication, hard work, and leadership inspired many who worked alongside him.
On December 17, 2006, he answered a higher calling and was ordained at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Reverend. His passion for ministry led him to establish the Ministry Soldiers Across, through which he worked tirelessly to spread God’s word and encourage others in their faith.
Reverend Gordon also served his country with honor through his time in the United States Army. His life was a testimony of perseverance, love, and faith. He encouraged and uplifted all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and unwavering devotion to both his family and his Lord.
