Malcolm Lewis Kurzban's Obituary
KURZBAN, Malcolm Lewis March 2, 1930 – January 3, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Alexander and Beatrice Kurzban. Beloved husband of 62 years to Rosemary, loving father of three boys and daughters-in-law: Stephen (Cely), David (Sharon), Richard (fiancée Mariana). Malcom always sought quality time with his grandchildren, Angela, Crystal, Kathleen, Michael, Lori, April, Brandi, Sandra, Seth, and Stephanie, and he was very close with his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Nina Kurzban, and Rosemary’s sister, Judy Adler. Dad found great joy in his music collection, the crooners of the golden age and the swing of the big bands, and if you were a guest in his home then he shared that joy with you. In the years when his boys lived at home, Dad used to take us fishing in the Everglades on weekends, and in the later days of our family reunions we had those fond memories to share. He was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and the New York Yankees, harkening back to their glory days, and he kept memorabilia on display and a couple jerseys to wear both in and out of the house. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles at home in his comfortable living room chair. But most of all, he loved and cherished my mother. They lived all the adult seasons of their lives together, and there never were a husband and wife who could count on one another more than they could. Because of his legacy, the family has always had that secure rock to return to and to stand upon. Dad accepted all the blessings and trials in life with equal verve. Like the Chairman of the Board, he did it his way, right to the end. May you be content and at peace now, Dad. Service will be held on Thursday January 7 at 2:30 pm at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street in Miami, FL 33172. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 865-2353
