Marc H. Weiss' Obituary
Marc H. Weiss
October 5, 1946 – April 4, 2020
The world lost an extraordinary man on April 4, 2020. Marc Weiss passed away peacefully in Hollywood, Florida with family by his side. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Marc was born and raised in Rochester, NY before moving on to Boston, MA for school. He later settled back in Rochester, NY where he would meet Dorothy, and they would begin their family together, with the birth of their daughter Melissa.
Marc began his Professional career in 1970 as an agent for Connecticut Mutual Life in Rochester, NY. In 1974, he and his family moved to Hartford, CT where Marc was a member of the Home Office Staff responsible for the development and marketing of all disability products. While in Harford, Marc and Dotti had their second wonderful daughter Carrie. In 1979 the entire Weiss clan made one final move to South Florida, where later he would begin his legacy at Associated Financial Consultants, Inc.
Marc was proud to have been a past president of Temple Beth Emet. He helped the Temple grow and become a welcoming place for the Jewish community. For close to 38 years, he continued his support and guidance. He considered Temple Beth Emet to be his second home.
Marc’s heart radiated love, kindness and generosity. It captivated everyone who had the pleasure of being in its path. He was a loving and devoted husband to Dotti. He was a loving and protective father to Melissa (Jeff) Zuckerman, and Carrie (Robert) Horowitz. He was a generous, nurturing and loving grandfather to Rebekah, Benjamin, Hayley and Jenna.
His love extended to his baby sister Marilyn (and her husband Daniel) Long, and his brothers in law Howard and Fred (Danette) Weingarten. He loved his many nieces and nephews, Samantha and Ben Olson, DJ and Laurel Long, Tracy and Jeremy Meltzer, Eric and Wendy Weingarten, and Elspeth Weingarten, along with many great-nieces and nephews. He cherished his many friends.
Marc’s biggest love in the world though, has been his beloved Dotti. The two loved to travel together throughout the world. They delighted in their wonderful experiences with their kids and grandkids. He loved to be active in the lives of his grandchildren as much as he could. Dance recitals, baseball games, volleyball matches and soccer games. Marc would be there cheering them on.
A diehard hockey fan for centuries, you could always find Marc hanging around the BB&T Center cheering on his Florida Panthers Hockey Team.
Marc lived life with love and passion. He was a fierce advocate for his clients and a rock for his family. His presence, laughter and love will be greatly missed by those who knew and love him.
