Van Goldie
Today I will remember the good times. The endless number of times my grandmother stood in so that my mom could work to support us. The school chaperone, the cheerleader, the one the school called when we (mostly me!) got in trouble, the chauffeur, the cook, the one who took us to the doctor and took care of us when we were sick....the one who was always there when we needed her. Not a day of our lives ever went by that we didn't know that we were loved unconditionally, and accepted completely.
She was gracious to one and all. I cannot begin to count the number of people we all brought home, often at random times, and yet, regardless of the reasons for them being there, or how she personally felt, everyone was always graciously welcomed, and of course, fed.
She was my role model, my heart, my inspiration, my guiding light...and always will be. She lived long, she lived well, and she was loved by so many. She will continue on through the "dynasty" she built for her beloved husband, my Pop. We will all take her lessons and continue them through our children, and the lives we touch. She will not be forgotten. Thank you, Nummy. Love you, always.
