I am saddened to learn of the passing of Marty.
I first met Marty while he was at BNL and I was at UNC.
My group hired Marty as a consultant in NIM bin instrumentation- one of my best memories of him was when he and I used to play tic-tac-toe on each other while wearing white cleanroom bunny suits awaiting security or processing results.
From there and after my service life at UNC, we worked on grant proposals, I convinced him to work with me in my consultancy, and he served as advisor on my undergrad thesis at SUNY.
He was generous of his amazing brain and time. He was an amazing man, mentor, and friend.
